This happened also to me. Forgot to backup DB of my forum software… argghhh…

But in case of bandwidth: If you want to spend all your bandwidth just release a “Debian Repository” (e.g. a mirror of Christian Marillat”s MM repository) and put one little stupid link to it (in my forum again)… Now guess what the Google-Bot will do with this link????

Jupp, first 2 GB, 2nd 20 GB traffic…

But the repository did not all do here I also contributed “a little 10 GB bandwidth per direction” to the TOR network (anonymity).

:: My site!!! ARRGH!!!

me thinks me is an idiot sometimes...

I was trying to shift my site to a new host that would give me more space and bandwidth over the past few days. I seemed to be getting alot more hits and the downloads of WordPress Plugins had pushed my bandwidth over the limit so much so that my site was suspended for a day or so last week.

Anyhow, here I was trying to figure out the move and how not to affect the site too much. Happily copying and backing up stuff to my local PC. When...

me thinks me is an idiot sometimes...

I go delete the DB on my main site before making the backup.

ARRGH!!!

did I mention that me thinks me is an idiot sometimes???

So there went a whole bunch of users comments, some statistics and a post. The only thing I had to fall back on was a backup that I made a few days before. PANIC STATIONS???

Semi panic I would say, but more just feeling bad for myself. lol...

I restored for the previous backup that I had and continued with the host relocation. Took me a while to get things setup on the new host but I'm glad to say that I'm there now and things should start to be back in order.

Some of you probably had download problems and noticed that your comments have disappeared or have gone unanswered for a bit. I'm working fast to get things back, but I have lost some of the comments so I apologise.

On top of that I just moved to Singapore from Toronto so need to settle down and set myself up. That though is another story...
